Your Staff Contract is the foundation of your agreement to work at Sandy Island Camp. Please confirm the planned start and end dates of your employment and all other information in the contract. If all looks in order you can sign the document electronically within our Campminder information System. You can login to do that here: Campminder Login.

CONGRATULATIONS! Once that document is signed, it’s official. You have taken the first official step to being part of the Sandy Island Camp Staff! We are honored and a privileged to have you with us. We sure hope you feel the same way!

 

The Sandy Island Culture Contract can also be found in Campminder. Please read it and accept it electronically. This is a requirement of all Sandy Staff. Accepting the Culture Contract, means you have read it and understand what it is saying about our expectations of you as staff, and some of the actions we might take if those expectations aren’t being adhered with. CORI stands for Criminal Offender Record Information.

SORI stnads for Sexual Offender Record Information.

These are two backgrounbd checks that are necessary for you to be employed by the YMCA of Greater Boston.

Filling out these forms gives us permission to begin the background check. ONLY after we have submitted the forms AND heard back from the relevant agencies can your onboarding with the YMCA continue.

The Forms MUST be printed out.

They MUST be filled out in pen

and they MUST be uploaded to the link provided.

Only after this is all done can we continue with your onboarding.

This download has three forms. You only need to fill out two of the three. which two depends on if you are a resident of the State of Massachusetts. Everyone fills out the SORI form. Then you pick the correct CORI form based on your residency.

To hire you, and process paperwork, we need to confirm you are you.

If you are 18 or over you can upload a copy of your drivers license OR your passport.

If you are under 18, and don’t have either of those documents we need two out of the following three documents:

  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • School ID Card

Telegram Messenger is an App for Apple and Android. As we get closer to the summer this will be the primary source of communication between and amongst the whole staff community (Staff, Volunteers, and family of staff living on Island). Information moves surprisingly fast on Sandy. This tool is essential for being able to keep in the loop.

There are a few extra steps for staff that are legal minors. These steps involve permissions we need from your parents or legal guardians in order to help keep you safe at camp in their absence. These items we require are:

  1. Authorization to administer medical treatment. Download blank form here
  2. Vaccine and Medical Record dated within the last year. You can likely get this directly from your pediatrician. It is likely you needed this for school as well. If you want a blank form for them to fill out, you can Download blank form here.
  3. Permission to leave camp premises. You can Download blank form here.

If you have lived in the Staste of NH at any point over the last 7 years, NH requires that you complete a NH specific background check.

If you have active Lifeguard and/or First Aid certifications from either YMCA, ASHI or the Red Cross, Please us the link below to upload them here.

If you were certified through the YMCA we require:

  1. Your YMCA Lifeguarding certification
  2. YourASHI certification for First Aid, Emergency Oxygen & Basic Life Support

If you are certified through The Red Cross we require:

  1. Your Red Cross Lifeguard certification
  2. Your Red Cross First Aid certification

Please Send an Email to: afirenze@ymcaboston.org with your flight arrival details.

Once you have completed all of the applicable steps above, we will activte an account for you in the Human Resources Management System of the Boston YMCA. This System is known as ADP.

You will get an email from ADP requesting that you login.

From ADP you will have an onboarding checklist. This check list will include things like:

Declaring/Confirming your Tax Withholdings

Setting Up Direct Deposit Accounts

Completing Required Staff Trainings.
